Art Deco (around 1925)
It was a modern style that used forms that were combinations of crafts and geometric shapes. The curves were bold and precise.
Adolphe Mouron Cassandre: An Ukranian-French painter, poster artist and typeface designer.
After World War II, Modern Style was accepted and applied widespread, especially in the areas of advertising and packaging.
SWISS STYLE (1950s-1970s)
Leading designers of this style were Armin Hofmann, Emil Ruder, and Joseph Muller -Brockmann.
The style was almost all about typography. It was clear, structured and harmonious. Sans- serif type was domineering the design.

DESIGNERS OF 40s AND 50s: They were influenced by Surrealism and Avant-Garde.
- Alexey Brodovitch: Russian emigrant photographer and designer. He worked in Paris, then in America. He was the art director of Harper's Bazaar.
- Paul Rand: American graphic designer (Best known for his corporate logo designs)
- Bradbury Thompson: He could perfectly combine photography, typography and color with each other. He had a strong sense of order and structure, and he gave the most importance to form.
- Saul Bass: Graphic designer (but Best known for his motion picture title sequences)
DESIGNERS OF 60s AND 70s:
- Herb Lubalin: American graphic designer. He was influenced by Art Deco and interpreted it to a post-modern version.
- Milton Glaser: His works are direct, simple and original. With his works he made a great impact on contemporary illustration and design.
